The MTA held a Neighborhood Work Group meeting on the proposed Silver Spring Transit Center Station on March 27, 2013. At this meeting, the MTA presented a briefing on the Purple Line project and an overview of the current plans for the proposed Silver Spring Transit Center Station and the Silver Spring Library Station. The MTA held a meeting on May 30, 2012 about the proposed Silver Spring Transit Center Station. At this meeting the MTA presented an overview of the current plans for the station and the area around it, including the interaction with the new transit center (currently under construction), explained what light rail stations are like, and led detailed discussions about station issues such as community access.
