Business Development Grant Program

In March of 2024, MTA announced that Purple Line Transit Partners will provide $4 million to extend a program currently in place to provide grants to businesses impacted by revenue loss due to extended project construction. In addition, the Purple Line Transit Partners also committed to an on-the-job training program to help develop a diverse and qualified workforce in Maryland. “Success hinges on teamwork and we are fortunate for our partnership with the Maryland Transit Administration, Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, the University of Maryland, and others as we work to deliver the Purple Line as rapidly as possible,” said Doran Bosso, Chief Executive Officer Purple Line Transit Partners.

The Business Engagement Team works to build and nurture relationships with businesses along the corridor. Our team brings a wealth of experience in business and community engagement, marketing, and social engagement from various national and international industries. We recognize that construction may cause temporary inconveniences to businesses near construction sites.

We’re here to help. Our team:

  • Establishes strong working relationships with businesses along the alignment
  • Connects businesses with tools and resources to support their business
  • Examines construction activity and anticipates potential business impacts
  • Addresses operational business needs and concerns
  • Works with businesses to minimize disruptions during construction activities
